We looked at Cayuga State park with envy.

First, eyes are the new ways to tell how fast u r going apparently. Every time I come in I do 5 mph. At night, I do the same. However, everyone is drunk so I always get yelled at and complaints to the owner. Especially by this one dark haired nosy woman who thinks she owns the world. I get accused by the owner. Not questioned, but accused. He clearly sides with people because that same woman I've seen flying by on her golf cart in the wrong direction!

Do yourself a favor, camp at the state park 5 miles down the road. Owners police the 5 miles an hour policy and will pull campers over and berate the *paying* customer for going over their speed limit. They will also invite you to leave if you don't like how he runs the place. The fire pits had cigars and cigarettes and plastic and wet garbage in the pit. The pool had bugs floating in it everywhere, and there was sediment in the bottom of it. The showers, oh the showers, smelt like rotten eggs, and they had a good two inches of water covering my feet because it wouldn't drain. I felt more dirty after my shower than before. There was zero shade in the field we camped in, and a skunk that roamed the grounds at night. The other negative reviews are spot on.

In conclusion, please do not take my word for it...please visit the campground and see for yourselves, and definitely do not take anything the last review had to say as anything other than a work of fiction.

Second, our camper and others have gotten broken into. The owner does not have a plan for when that happens.

Well at first I thought it might not be to bad. Its a beautiful place with protental but that's where it stops. The showers and bathrooms are disgusting. Then the seasonal folks get drunk and are rude and always yelling to slow down to people going 5 mph or even less. They keep telling weekends as we are called to stay off the grass with bikes and carts that are rented as if we are 2. They are quick to tell you that they pay to stay here. Well just to let these rude seasonal people know that if it wasn't for us weekenders that pay more for a site than they do their rate would be much higher. They say don't move the fire rings well if you don't than your fire is under the neighbor's camper. Not sure if these people have ever camped or just don't care or are just plain blind. The old owners were much better. WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS ONE THAT'S FOR SURE!!!

Third, the bathrooms are so disgusting. They are old and smell bad. I always find hair in it and the shower heads suck. The constant nagging and accusing is starting to become a problem. I'm sick of it. It ruins the camping experience. Oh yes, this campground is also a free range to let your young children run around wherever they want and the playground is a hang out for teens who like to swear and talk dirty. We've stayed seasonally for three years. Not likely to happen a fourth.

Great place! Swet sound of children on the playground, generous portions of food (more than I could eat), good beer that was really cold (yum), clean campsite (I was in a tent), clean bathrooms! Affordable and pleasant owners! I have nothing negative to say! Highly recommended!

This Campground despite Ms. Buske's review of lies, is very much a family orientated campground. They often have events to raise money for camp good days as well as various other charities. Ms Buske claims that people are too drunk to notice how fast she is going. The speed limit is clearly posted through out this beautiful campground as being 5 miles an hour. I myself have witnessed her on numerous occasions going in excess of the speed limit. Children have even spoke up to this woman asking her to slow down and her classy retort to these small children was " F### yourselves". These children were all about 12 and under that she yelled that to. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned everyday perhaps it was her hair she happened to find in the drain of the shower. Everyone at Hejamada is warm and welcoming including the "one dark haired nosy woman who thinks she owns the world" ( I think that is how the complainant put it anyway) she is friendly, caring and would help anyone if she was asked. That doesn't just go for her but the rest of the people there as well, especially the owners. They have always made us feel like family. Ms. B, my advice if you see this, if you are not happy there feel free to leave because we don't need that kind of lying and negativity in the campground.
